On April 20th, 2020, Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University; Institute of Population, Health and Development (PHAD) and Sustainable Health Development Center (VietHealth) have launched an online Opening Ceremony in course called “Pediatric Speech Therapy 06, year 2020 – 2021”, hereby ST course. The purpose of the 10-month ST course is to meet the needs of intervention programs for children disorders related to speech, pronunciation, communication, language, eating and swallowing. All participants come from project sites in Hold my hand (PHAD) and DISTINCT (VietHealth).as a strict requirement, participants of the training course should be doctors, nurses, technicians, psychologists, sociologists, preschool teachers and so on. They are working in the project sites namely Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh. All tuition is fully covered and funded by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the scope of the two projects implemented by PHAD and VietHealth.
Since the complicated situation of Covide-19 pandemic and obey the Directive 16/CT-TTg issued by the Prime Minister, the Board of Directors of PNTU have launched the online Opening Ceremony via Microsoft Teams software. Each student or lecturer was given an account to attend the training course. This new approach highly marked the progress of using ICT in learning in PNTU.
The Opening Ceremony had the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Hiep – Vice Director of the University; Representative of the sponsor was Ms Nguyen Thi Hoa Le – Representative of USAID; Mr Vu Cong Nguyen – Deputy Executive Director from PHAD, Mr Le Quang Duong – Director of VietHealth, and 45 ST students. The ceremony took place in the shared speeches of representatives of PNTU, USAID, PHAD & VietHealth and lecturers and students.
After the opening ceremony, an online course started from April 21st, 2020 unless VN government announced to implement on-site class in HCMC.
