Under the Health Policy Initiative (HPI), 04-05 August, An Giang Provincial People's Committee chaired the Experience sharing workshop on 100% condom use program in An Giang. The workshop had the participation of representatives from the industry as the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism; representatives from international organizations like UNAIDS, USAID , WHO, FHI, PSI, WB, CDC, DOD; representatives from the Department of Health, Center for AIDS prevention in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Lao Cai, Nghe An, and large enough representatives of the department participate in An Giang.
In the workshop, representatives visited some Establish Entertainments (EEs) that currently participate in 100% CUP in Long Xuyen and they were introduced about the 100% CUP in An Giang, similarities and differences between the An Giang’s model and other models, such as WHO’s model; the ongoing activities and experiences from the An Giang province. Participants also spent time in discussing the advantages, disadvantages and challenges in implementation of the program, and adaptation of the An Giang program to other provinces.
The workshop ended with the agreement of difficulties and advantages on expansion and sustainability of the program as well as next steps after the work shop.
